Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in port operations and port management of Vietnamese ports are stated. The research also shows the picture of future development of container transhipment market in Far East region and potential of ports of Vietnam to have market share in the region. Finally at the end the appropriate conclusions and recommendations for Vietnamese ports are presented.
