Faculty Civil Engineering and Geosciences Department Hydraulic Engineering Date 2016-02-09 Abstract Additional thesis with a size of 10 European Credits. A Finite Element Method model is established for an inflatable barrier. The inflatable storm barrier of Ramspol in the Netherlands is taken as reference project. The FEM program that is used is called EASY and is specialized in highly deformable structures. With the model, an optimal design for the abutments of the barrier is found.
