Abstract
This thesis shows the design process of the resource clock, a consumer product designed to provide households easily accessible feedback on their domestic resource consumption. This report describes the analysis of how domestic resource consumption, user behavior concerning resource consumption and feedback, can play a role in the process of creating awareness among consumers on how their behavior influences their resource consumption. These aspects are translated into design directions and ideas which are elaborated based on interviews and in-depth analysis on theory and technology. This leads to three concepts of which one concept is elaborated and designed into detail, the resource clock. The final phase of the report describes the creation of a prototype and user test, evaluating the created design.
