Project KWP-collection Date 1981-12-01 Abstract The results of several laboratory studies have been used to develop a method to estimate the wave runup and rundown on plane, smooth slopes caused by irregular wave action. Curves and equations are presented which) can be used to compute the 2-percent runup, significant runup, mean runup, and approximate lower limit of rundown. A procedure i s suggested for adapting the smooth-slope results to wave runup on rough and porous slopes. Exampleproblems illustrate the use of the material presented.
