Schra, L. Institution National Aerospace Laboratory NLR Date 1973-01-01 Abstract Material from forgings rejected after cracking in service was given a variety of heat treatments. Material aged to peak hardness was susceptible to SCC at all ageing temperatures. Overageing at temperatures around 160° C imparted a significant increase in SCC resistance while useful strength was retained. An additional one week ageing at 160° C of T6 material made it virtually immune to stress corrosion without a significant loss of strength, Subject aluminium alloysstress corrosion crackingheat treatment To reference this document use: http://resolver.tudelft.nl/uuid:ba6ce6f2-56b2-46b1-8d03-0d3f3afb9f42 Publisher Nationaal Lucht- en Ruimtevaartlaboratorium Access restriction Campus only Source NLR-TR 73014 U Part of collection Aerospace Engineering Reports Document type report Rights (c)1973 National Aerospace Laboratory NLR Files campus only
