Transport systems enable evacuation, and access for emergency services and materials for rebuilding. This research aims to clarify the term tsunami resiliency for transport systems by means of decomposing the concept of ‘tsunami resiliency’ into separate factors first and then design an assessment method based on these factors. The measurements and best and worst case scenarios for the factors form the basis for a scoring range for each factor. This allows the assessing of a transport system on its tsunami resiliency.
