Encourage mutualunderstanding between the public and private sector,and even share responsibilities in the fight againstsmuggling, terrorism and criminal organizations?We believe there are, but to do so there is a need forpeople who are knowledgeable in various disciplines.The Master Degree in Customs and Supply ChainCompliance developed by the Rotterdam School ofManagement offers this type of education by integratingthree disciplines: Customs regulations; supply chainmanagement and logistics; and information technologyand auditing. In this article, we discuss the objectivesof the degree and the educational philosophy of theprogramme, and reveal some of the lessons learned insetting it up.
