(mentor) Faculty Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science Date 2008-11-24 Abstract Feasibility study of a tire hydroplaning simulation in a finite element code using a coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian method. The considered FEA code is Simulia's Abaqus. Fundamentals of Abaqus' FSI solver is considered. This includes fluid and structure mechanics and fluid-structure interaction issues. The FSI solver is benchmarked. Conclusions and recommendations are made.
