Enhanced tunneling across nanometer-scale metal–semiconductor interfaces

We have measured electrical transport across epitaxial, nanometer-sized metal–semiconductor interfaces by contacting CoSi2 islands grown on Si(111) with the tip of a scanning tunneling microscope.
