(author), Mulder, F.M. (author), Wagemaker, M. (author)Amorphous titanium oxide nanoparticles were prepared from titanium isopropoxide. In situ measurements reveal an extraordinary high capacity of 810 mAh/g on the first discharge. Upon cycling at a charge/discharge rate of 33.5 mA/g, this capacity gradually decreases to 200 mAh/g after 50 cycles. The origin of this fading was investigated using X...journal article 2010

Van der Ven, A. (author), Garikipati, K. (author), Kim, S. (author), Wagemaker, M. (author)We investigate the role of coherency strains on the thermodynamics of two-phase coexistence during Li (de)intercalation of LixFePO4. We explicitly account for the anisotropy of the elastic moduli and analytically derive coupled chemical and mechanical equilibrium criteria for two-phase morphologies observed experimentally. Coherent two-phase...journal article 2009

Huang, R.W.J.M. (author), Chung, F. (author), Kelder, E.M. (author)We present a semimathematical model for the simulation of the impedance spectra of a rechargeable lithium batteries consisting of porous electrodes with spherical Li+ intercalation particles. The particles are considered to have two distinct homogeneous phases as a result of the intercalation and deintercalation of Li+ during charge and...journal article 2006
