One of the barriers to implementation of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) into structural applications is the lack of understanding of the shear behaviour of SFRC members. This paper proposes a theoretical model for the shear capacity of SFRC members with mild steel reinforcement based on the shear-carrying mechanisms and sectional...

Even though the structural behavior steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) has been extensively researched, structural applications are still limited. One barrier to its implementation is the lack of mechanical models that describe the behaviour of SFRC members failing in shear. This paper reviews the effect of steel fibers on the different...

Comparing experimental results of the shear capacity of steel fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC) beams without stirrups to the capacity predicted using current design equations and other available formulations shows that predicting the shear capacity of SFRC beams without mild steel shear reinforcement is still difficult. The reason for this...

Induction heating technique is an innovative asphalt pavement maintenance method that is applied to inductive asphalt concrete mixes in order to prevent the formation of macro-cracks by increasing locally the temperature of asphalt. The development of asphalt mixes with improved electrical and thermal properties is crucial in terms of...

By making use of HSC the box girders of Spanbeton are designed more slender. Use was made of additional prestressing and additional stirrups. Steel fibers were used to increase the ductility of the HSC. Besides the ductility, the steel fibers were used to increase the shear capacity of the concrete. Due to this increase, less stirrups were needed.
