The report presents a survey of the various aspects of acoustic fatigue in aircraft structures. The subjects of the chapters are: (l) the noise environment, (2) the mechanical response of the structure, (3) fatigue properties of structures, (U) acoustic fatigue testing, (5) some casehistories. Finally it is tried to evaluate the present state of the problem, to indicate certain procedures to meet future problems and to outline some topics for further research.
