The highly rigid molecular structure of Polymers of Intrinsic Microporosity (PIM) – associated with a high thermolysis threshold – combined with the possibility to fill intrinsic micropores allows the direct “one-step” templated conversion of metal nitrates into nano-structured metal oxides.
