Networks of nanowires, nanotubes, and nanosheets are important for many applications in printed electronics. However, the network conductivity and mobility are usually limited by the resistance between the particles, often referred to as the junction resistance. Minimising the junction resistance has proven to be challenging, partly because it...

This paper studies the tuning process of controllers for fully actuated manipulators. To this end, we propose a methodology to design the desired damping matrix—alternatively, the derivative gain of a PD controller—of the closed-loop system such that n second-order systems can approximate its behavior with a prescribed damping coefficient,...

A common claim in open education is that librarians are effective supporters in open education work because their talents for research, organization, and working with students make them natural supporters of faculty designing OER courses. This study seeks to understand how librarians and faculty interacted with one another in an deliberate...

The heavy fermion compound URu2Si2 continues to attract great interest due to the unidentified hidden order it develops below 17.5 K. The unique Ising character of the spin fluctuations and low-temperature quasiparticles is well established. We present detailed measurements of the angular anisotropy of the nonlinear magnetization that reveal...

The near-wall scaling of mean velocity U(y) is addressed for the case of zero skin friction on one wall of a fully turbulent channel flow. The present DNS results can be added to the evidence in support of the conjecture that U is proportional to √yw in the region just above the wall at which the mean shear dU/dy = 0.
