Abstract

The mobile industry is characterized by rapid innovation due to the frequent changes in mobile/network technology, market trends and business needs. When an enterprise wants to reengineer its existing mobile services, the business model of the mobile service needs to be modified as well as the process models. However, business models and process models are closely related. Aligning business models and process models that are agile and flexible enough to respond to any changes offers benefits for enterprises to stay competitive in the changing environment. This paper explores the approach to the link between business models and process models in mobile services value networks. Our findings show three stages in aligning business models and process models and highlight the role played by business requirements and technical architecture as the bridge to link business models and process models. We also note the importance of the Business Process Framework and Service Oriented Architecture as the heart of the alignment of business models and process models of mobile services value networks in changing environment.
