Architecture and the Built Environment

Abstract

The graduation project reconsiders the role of municipal space in the public realm and the relationship between the municipality and citizens. It’s a reflection on the social phenomenon that people have insufficient opportunities to speak up for themselves and insufficient democratic engagement in the metropolis. Located in the center of this historical and modern international metropolis, the building wants to announce itself to the city by its representative character - it’s the people’s palace.
