Abstract

In the design of low-rise buildings, wind tunnel experiments are scarcely employed to assess the wind-induced pressures, which are required e.g. for the simulation of ventilation flows or for the evaluation of the structural integrity. Instead, techniques are used, which predominandy rely on inter- or extrapolation of wind pressure coefficients, measured in prior wind tunnel and full-scale experiments. Due to the complexity of the underlying physics, this is a process, which may introduce considerable uncertainty. This study aims to quantify this uncertainty in a case study.
