Abstract

The Rotterdam Ophthalmic institute is developing a self-triage instrument - named the ISET - for the Rotterdam Eye Hospital (OZR). During development it became clear that the software was functional but the usability of the and the appearance of the device needed more attention This project’s aim was to improve usability for both patients and staff, to design the appearance to suit the OZR brand style and to ready the concept for implementation. The new ISET features a figure named Okki, that is designed to reduce anxiety among its user, an improved user interface and the addition of an interface for the front office employee enabling them to monitor and help the patient when necessary. The new ISET is designed to specifically fit the OZR brand regarding both core values and brand style.
