Abstract

A proposal for an UN environmental council was made for the architecture master. This building is meant to facilitate collecting, producing, propagating and exchanging the knowledge on environment related topics. In this way, worldwide policy could be made to lead a sustainable evolution for mankind. The building consists of a public dome and an office tower. It is located next to the United Nations Headquarters in Manhattan, New York. The Building Technology thesis looks into the sustainable benefits of plants on facades (living facades). Different living facade systems are compared on these sustainable benefits. Also the amount of plants on the building is determined.
