Abstract

This "designers' manual" is made during the TIDO-course AR0531 Innovation and Sustainability This manual explains why mass timber is the sustainable substitute for conventional materials and how it can be implemented in the design. It is intended for architects who usually always build in steel and concrete, because they are not familiar with mass timber. This manual gives the reader a quick overview of the opportunities, possibilities and design rules of mass timber structures.
