Abstract

From the idea that learning activities result in better study results when the spatial quality of this learning activity matches the learning activity, it is remarkable that no scientific research has been found in which the relation between new learning activities as collaborative and independent working is investigated. Therefore, the purpose of the described research is to understand the way in which the spatial quality of the learning environment supports the learning activities of working independently, and the collaboration of pupils working in groups. The research has been performed by using a survey amongst 742 pupils, 281 teachers and 444 parents.
