Abstract

This dissertation examines how shared mobility providers can manage demand by aligning operational decisions with user behavior. It highlights behavioral factors that generate systematic and predictable demand responses and embeds them into operational models as demand management levers. By integrating social influence into phased deployment and context effects into choice set design, it shows that high-quality, gradual expansion improves profitability and stabilizes adoption, while behaviorally informed menus strengthen competitive performance.
