Abstract
Global warming is one of the biggest societal problems in 2023. The share of IT usage within this problem has been growing rapidly in the last decades, and this is likely to continue. To stop the increasing footprint of IT (usage) a significant change is required. However, due to the pervasive nature of IT integration in our daily lives, this is a very complex undertaking. Greening the IT sector would require multidimensional changes in technologies, behaviors, regulations and so on.
