Abstract

Integrating land use policies and transport policies doesn¿t come easy. Though necessary from many points of view, engineers and planners have a hard time coping with the silo structure of their respective disciplines and policy fields. This challenge is usually framed from a planning theoretical perspective. This article argues that cognitive psychology and neurosciences offer important new insights on this interaction. Integration can be enhanced by a changing the culture of the policy processes, from decision making to learning.
