Abstract

Hospital waste streams can be minimized or even eliminated by using circular strategies. Reduce: Use less disposable instruments and more reusable instruments. Reuse: Repair of instruments instead of replacement. Recycle: Packaging was recycled, wrapping paper and steel waste into new materials. New products were manufactured out of recycled hospital waste. Cultural change is needed including creating awareness, change of workflows of transcending departments are needed. Presentation of the conference of the World Sterilization Federation WFHSS in Brussels, October 2023.
