Abstract

This graduation project is a research into, and a design proposal for the extended part of the Lijnbaan in Rotterdam. Through literature research and interviews with its visitors, past interventions in this area of the Lijnbaan are analyzed based on these visitors' opinions. The design is a proposal for this part of the Lijnbaan. By recapturing the spirit and thought process behind the original design of this urban block, this design opens up this closed-off area, revitalising a part of Rotterdam which now remains underutilized.
