Abstract

Cognitieve Radio is a revolutionaary tehcnolgoy which provides efficient use of spectrum. OFDM is a proper technique for the cognitieve radio. In this paper, we present an overview of adaptive OFDM techniques in the context of cognitive radio. Major adaptive OFDM schemes for cognitive radio are reviewed and compared. Adaptive OFDM technique used in the spectrum pooling is studied and methods to mititgate interference with licensed users are highlighted. Major technological challenges in applying adaptive OFDM to cognitive radio are discussed and conclusions are made.
