Abstract

The purpose of my graduation project, “BREAD AND WINE. Celebrating multi-ethnicity through food” is to investigate the role the celebration of food in human culture and to analyse its potential contribution to fighting discrimination and creating a sense of belonging in diverse neighborhoods. The topic focuses on how the cultural and social aspects of food can be integrated into the design of a Public Condenser, but also how the functions and spatial programme of a public building can support the gathering and sharing of food and how the design of a public building in general can reflect the cultural diversity of the community it serves.
