Abstract

Our age of archival excesses is made palpable by infinite datasets that underlie generative AI. Venice in Conversation critiques this superabundance by orchestrating a conversation between avatars of historical and contemporary figures about real and generated Venices. With each changing image, Venice appears as both fantastical and realistic, and forever elusive.
