Abstract

The combination of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has gained attention over the past five years due to the complementary advantages of these modalities [1]. Whole-Body (WB) PET/MR systems for clinical applications still have room for improvement regarding image quality optimization. In this paper, the binding process of MR images is addressed since MR images are processed to obtain a continuous 3D WB-image. Issues with automatic binding algorithms are identified, and preliminary post-processing algorithms are proposed.
