Atmospheric turbulence encountered by a Britannia aircraft on Polar and North Pacific routes

V-G-H records we re obtained from a Britannia 314 air craft operating on regular scheduled service between Vancouver and Amsterdam (Polar route) and Vancouver and Hong Koog (North Pacific route). Records were obtained over a period of 186 flying hours, between May and December 1960 . Since the collection of data is still proceeding, the results presented in this report should be considered as of an interim nature only. Certain observations have been made, but at this stage no definite conclusions have been drawn, as the amount of data available is not considered sufficient to provide a true statistical representation of conditions.
