Abstract

Rotterdam-Zuid is dealing with large socio-economic and spatial-physical problems. The plan that should contribute to a sustainable solution to these problems are as follows. (1) The development of the Parkstad area into a lively mixed urban environment. (2) The establishment of new local routes and connections between neighbourhoods, shopping streets and the larger urban network. (3) The construction of multifunctional building containing a vocational school, office space and workshops for freelancers and small companies, commercial and social space, a library and other support functions.
