As chloride diffusivity is affected by temperature, most existing service life prediction models use the Arrhenius equation to describe the relationship between temperature and chloride diffusivity; however, the variability of activation energy values have rarely been considered. In this investigation, a statistical model using Monte Carlo method is established for the prediction of concrete’s service life considering the temperature effect on chloride diffusivity, in which the values of activation energy for diffusivity was determined based on an empirical correlation between diffusivity and activation energy value. The proposed model could theoretically provide a more suitable method for the prediction of concrete’s service life under various temperatures.
