Kant, P. Institution National Aerospace Laboratory NLR Date 1968-07-31 Abstract The problem of attitude determination of the PAS vehicle during the transfer orbit is analyzed. Of the four ways of using the primary angles measured by the sensors, one is discussed in detail. The problem of transforming the primary angles into a suitable set of presentation angles is discussed. The use of a few sets of possible presentation angles is illustrated by the results of a number of computer runs for transfer orbits initiated at various times of the year and the day. Special attention was given to the propagation of measurement errors of the primary data into the presentation angles. It is shown that this propagation varies with the time of launch, thus imposing a possible restriction on the launch time. The other purpose of the computer runs was to determine the launch windows imposed by field of view restrictions of the sensors and by the fact that at certain satellite positions the view on the sun of the sunsensor can be obstructed by the earth. Tables showing error propagations and graphs containing launch windows are presented To reference this document use: http://resolver.tudelft.nl/uuid:96bb139a-7722-4c5c-888e-5101cde87b1e Publisher Nationaal Lucht- en Ruimtevaartlaboratorium Access restriction Campus only Source NLR Memorandum WR-68-031 Part of collection Aerospace Engineering Reports Document type report Rights (c)1968 National Aerospace Laboratory NLR Files PDF WR-68-031.pdf 47.38 MB Close viewer /islandora/object/uuid:96bb139a-7722-4c5c-888e-5101cde87b1e/datastream/OBJ/view
