Investigations have been made into the development of a test method for predicting the stability of refrigerator compressor lubricating oils in service which would be more realistic than normal oxidation tests. The problem, of contact between lubricant and refriger ant (Freon 12) in refrigeration systems , has been considered in developing the test method presented in this report .
