In 2016 bracht de Raad voor de Leefomgeving en Infrastructuur (RLI) het rapport ‘Mainports voorbij’ uit (RLI, 2016). In het rapport wordt gesteld dat de twee belangrijkste ‘mainports ’, de haven van Rotterdam en Schiphol Amsterdam, in tegenstelling tot wat ze zelf en vele anderen beweerden, niet de ‘motoren’ zijn van de Nederlandse economie....
