Nanne, J.A.M. (author)The Bakhuis Granulite Belt (BGB) in the largest Proterozoic granulite-facies domain in northern South America. A metapelite area of 50-100 km2 in the NE of the belt shows orthopyroxene + sillimanite + quartz ± sapphirine with 8-10wt% Al2O3 in the orthopyroxene, characteristic for ultrahigh-temperature (UHT) metamorphism.
