In this research, an Agent-Based Model is developed in order to gain insight in the effect of the design principles on the robustness of collective action on community gardens. The model is based on among others Elinor Ostrom's design principles, the Institutional Analysis and Development Framework, the Theory of Reasoned Action and a case study. Results indicate that the influence of the design principles highly depends on the way in which the principles are combined.
