The RNLN Fleet Air Arm (Marine Luchtvaartdienst) has recently implemented a series of usage monitoring procedures for optimisation of Orion and Lynx operation. Goal is an enhancement of efficiency, economy and safety of the usage of both aircraft systems. Compared to the benefits, the efforts for achieving useful usage monitoring are relatively small. It is remarked that the RNLN, as a relatively small operator, may be considered as one of the leading operators in this respect. In this report the item "usage monitoring" will be worked out and, illustrated with some examples, it will be shown in what way the RNLN performs usage monitoring, and with what effect.
