Abstract

The neo-Moorish architecture style emerged during the 19th and 20th century.
Representing a hybrid of traditional Moroccan design and European reinterpretations. This
thesis aims to explore the impact of this architectural style on the evolution of Moroccan
architecture. The focus lies on the connection between cultural identity, colonial influence
and the aesthetics of revivalist design. By tracing the political and cultural motivations
behind the neo-Moorish movement, the study investigates the impact on Moroccan
architectural developments. It also explores how these factors continue to influence
Moroccan identity in a globalized context.
