Abstract

A GPR antenna for detection of groundwater in arid regions has been designed and realized. The antenna is optimized for transmitting a 5-ns monocycle with high efficiency due to increased gain and reduced mismatch losses. The FDTD method was used in the analysis and design of the antenna. A new loading profile for ringing suppression has been found and apllied.
