Abstract
Batchleaching is a low cost way of treating gold ore. First a basin is built with dirtwalls and plastic. Next the basin is filled with tailings together with some of the chemicals. Cyanide is put on top of the batch and a substantial amount of water is added, enough to start circulation. Water with dissolved cyanide slowly penetrates through the sand and is collected by a drainage system.
