Abstract
The lifecycle of a 3D cadastral spatial unit and its associated rights, restrictions and responsibilities is made up of many different parts and substages (Van Oosterom 2013). Onepart could be the extraction of 3D data from building permit application process. This paper looks at how this process could be coordinated with a number of other processes and the 3D data used for a variety of purposes including testing conformance to building regulations, rates assessment, inclusion in a national topographic map and asset management. An
associated use case narrows the scope and illustrates how software which uses the Design and Engineering Methodology for Organisations (DEMO) (Dietz 2006) as reference can be used to facilitate this process.
