Abstract

A novel filtering method is implemented for the force measurements for typical flapping-wing measurement setups, taking into account the structural dynamics of the setup. With this filter, the temporal resolution of the usable signal is increased. Experiments are performed for surging and pitching wings, relevant for flapping wing flight, where the filter is shown to help in gathering more useful data.
