Abstract
Synthetic vision systems are regarded as a candidate technology to increase safety and/or enable operations that are impaired by reduced visibility conditions. A synthetic vision system requires accurate real-time position determination, a high data storage capacity and high-performance 3-D computer graphics. The article discusses the concept, design and evaluation of such a system.
