Institution National Aerospace Laboratory NLR Date 1988-07-22 Abstract This manual describes the use of two tools for the development of software: - the COLAS Program Generator (CPG), which generates the complete control part of programs for interactive use from a specification of the user interaction. In addition the specifications needed for the COLAS command definition and stubs for the application routines are generated. In this way the definition of the user interaction results in a complete prototype program for evaluation of the interface. By gradually replacing stubs with real application routines the program can be incrementally developed. The specification of the user interaction needed by the CPG is straight forward; - the Program Generator Generator (PGG), which can be used to develop program generators. It suffices to specify the syntax of the input for the program generator and a script specifying the output of the program generator. The CPG is an example of a program generator developed with PGG.
