Interplay of Structural and Light-induced Carrier Dynamics in Metal Halide Perovskites

As one of the fastest-growing renewable energy technologies, photovoltaics play an increasingly important role in the global energy transition. Over the past decade, metal halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have emerged as the most promising candidates for next-generation solar cells, with a certified power conversion efficiency of 26.1% for single-junction cells. Despite these significant advances in this performance, understanding the fundamental optoelectronic properties of various compositions is crucial to improve the efficiency and stability of the development of single-junction and multi-junction solar cells, including perovskite/silicon and all-perovskite tandem solar cells. In this thesis, we have investigated the generation, recombination, and extraction of photo-generated carriers in various metal halide perovskites (MHPs) in combination with selective transport layers (TLs) mainly using the time-resolved microwave conductivity (TRMC) technique. Moreover, structural properties were revealed using various techniques including XRD, XPS, and SEM.
