Natranaerofaba, a bacterial genus; L. fem. pl. n. suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Natranaerofabaceae, the family of Natranaerofaba. The family Natranaerofabaceae includes obligately anaerobic acetogenic bacteria from soda lakes. They are extremely salt-tolerant and moderately thermophilic alkaliphiles capable of anaerobic carboxydotrophy. The family belongs to the order Natranaerobiales, class Natranaerobiia, and consists of a single genus Natranaerofaba. The family-level status was established by phylogenomic analysis. DNA G + C content (%): 35.3 (whole genome sequence).Type genus: Natranaerofaba Sorokin et al. 2021, VL202.
