Parcel sorting systems consist among other elements several infeed conveyors which are connected to a main conveyor. Parcels are then merged onto the main line. This is done using a First-Come-First-Serve method. This method experiences both a loss in throughput and an imbalanced throughput over all infeed conveyors. The two new methods improve the throughput and reduce the imbalance greatly.
