Abstract

The aims of this project is to achieve research-based-design-project in the name of addressed project theme; A house of European History. History of Brussels in relation to EU was revised to find out minimize negative impacts of previous urban development mainly known as a term 'Brusselization' to the local development of Brussels. Urban design was achieved based on the learning from history of Brussels. As for an symbolism of European Dream, history of Brussels was reinterpreted to architectural formative elements to generate spatial composition which convey architectural perceptions of fairy tales that achieved by an architectural design principle 'Design by narratives'.
